How It Works

The Scratchpad uses your browser's localStorage to save your notes automatically as you type. No data leaves your machine and no account is required — your notes persist even after closing the browser tab.

Markdown Support

Write in plain text or use Markdown syntax for formatting. Click Preview to see the rendered output. Supported syntax includes headings (## Heading), bold (**text**), italic (_text_), inline code, code blocks, links, blockquotes, lists, and horizontal rules.

Exporting

Use the Export TXT or Export MD buttons to download your notes as a file. The Copy button places the raw text onto your clipboard.

Embed This Util

You can embed this util on your own site as a widget. Adding ?embed=1 to the URL loads a compact version with just the tool itself; no header, menu, or documentation. Paste this snippet into your HTML:
